Energetyka Cieplna Opolszczyzny S.A. was awarded 28 mio worth co-financing for the construction of a new energy block generating heat in combination with electric energy. That subsidy comes from the Operating Programme Infrastructure and Environment, Measure 9.1 – High-efficiency energy generation.
Within the frameworks of the above-mentioned project, electric energy generation will take place in the condition of highly-efficient cogeneration by means of a OR 50 grate steam boiler fired with fine coal and a backpressure turbine. Nominal thermal power of the new cogeneration unit will be 28 MWt, where electric power will be 10 MWe.
